The Most Epic Video Game Birthday Party

We celebrated Jaxon's 6th birthday last month in the most epic way. He wanted a video game birthday and that was exactly what we gave him!

This party had to have been the simplest one I have thrown yet, but it was also one of the funnest, and according to Jaxon, his favorite! I first started by booking an Arcade On Wheels bus from a local company here in Western Massachusetts.

The Arcade on Wheels bus is literally just as it sounds, a huge bus filled with all sorts of arcade games and video games inside. We loved it because it kept the kids inside the bus and entertained for two hours. The arcade bus was a hit for both the children and adults.

After booking the Arcade bus, we needed to move on to decorations. I really wanted to keep things as simple as possible. Somehow, I ended up finding themed decorations at Party City that went perfectly. It wasn't just video game themed decor, but an Epic boys themed party decor. I described it as the boy version of the girl's sugar and spice and everything nice. The decor included little emoji looking symbols such as video games and accessories, pizza, fries, zombies, sharks, everything a little boy would be interested in. I purchased colorful star balloons from the dollar tree and the rest of the balloons were purchased at Party City.

The LEVEL 6 sign as well as the goody bag tags were both found on Etsy. The goody bags I purchased from Party City to match the theme. I then filled them up with popcorn, M&M and Swedish fish to make a popcorn mix. It was so good I couldn't stop eating them.

We made small balloon centerpieces for the outside tables. These are pretty simple to make and you can find tutorials on Youtube.

For the sweets and cake, I also wanted to keep it very simple. One of our bakers made the cake for us. The cupcakes were made by my sister and I purchased the liners and toppers right from Party City. The cookies and cake balls were purchased from the bakery section at Target.

I purchased Jaxon's shirt from Children's Place and it went perfect with the theme. Best of all, super cheap as it was on sale and free shipping. This shirt is almost sold out. However, Children's Place has a lot of other gamer shirts on sale. I paired it with mauve shorts and tan sneakers to represent the pepperoni and cheese on the pizza. Not sure if anyone caught that one though. (lol)

We had an absolute epic time! This party had to have been the simplest one I have thrown yet, but it was also one of the funnest, and according to Jaxon, his favorite!
