5 Minimal Fall Decorating Tips

Fall is officially in full effect and I am having so much fun decorating my house for the season. As always, I aim to decorate both on a budget but also keeping my new minimalist lifestyle. Below are five tips on minimal fall decorations.

1. Mums and Pumpkins

I love my porch in the fall especially because it is when it looks the prettiest. Mums transform our outdoor space and are super inexpensive. This year, I was able to find huge mums at Costco for only $10! I could’t believe how cheap they were. I then take the kids to a pumpkin patch and we pick out a few pumpkins to bring back home and decorate with. This way we combine “decor shopping” with a fun activity.

2. Decorative pillows

Changing up your decorative throw pillows is a great way to change up the look of your home. It gets expensive to purchase all new throw pillows, so you can either buy just the cover for a lot cheaper online, such as Amazon, or you can make your own pillows. We have made pillows out of place mats that end up turning out great. See more on how we make them here.

3. Throw blankets

Add quilted/fuzzy throw blankets to your couch and beds for a cozy look. I love how it not only looks good, but also makes for cozy nights cuddling up with your loved ones.

4. Wreaths

Wreaths are a great way to add some interest to an otherwise bare and boring area. You can use them on your door, but also look really cute over mirrors and indoor decor. Check out some of these pinned ideas on Pinterest.

5. Move Decorations Around

Finally, move your decorations around from room to room for a new but inexpensive look. I do this every few months and love how it feels new without it actually being new. I also move kitchen gadgets and add seasonal decor for a fresh new look in the kitchen. I then take out my Fall decor box and spread my decor around the house. Finally, I purchase a few inexpensive items to finish up the look I am going for.
