15 Beauty Products Every Mom Should Know About

I have really been focusing on self care this year and part of that has been purchasing beauty items that make me feel better about myself and more confident. I have to admit, prior to this past year, I rarely own any beauty products so I am still learning what is best and I am nowhere near being a professional beauty blogger. However, I am a mom and woman who has been able to find a few things that work for me and has made all of the difference in how I feel about myself. See below for some of my favorite beauty buys I recommend.
1. Soap & Glory
I love the entire Soap & Glory collection, especially the flake away body polish. I use it as a scrub/exfoliate in the shower. Not only does it smell really good (hubby loves the smell), but it really does leave your skin soft, gets rid of those dry flakes on your legs and serves as a great exfoliate for a closer shave.
This dry shampoo is a lifesaver. I tried a different brand and didn't like it at all but have been happy with the results of this one. This dry shampoo is perfect for those days between washes. Not only does it help eliminate some of the oily look, but it also smells good and even adds a little volume.
I use to use a different brand for quite a few years to straighten my hair, but then I decided to try this one day and never went back! As advertised, it really does sleek your hair for a few days to the point that I don't even need to add any type of oil shine to my hair after straightening it.
I received one of these little packets as a sample a year ago and since then I've been hooked. If you have dry damage hair, I definitely recommend you try this!
5. Mary Kay Satin Hands
This is not only good for your hands, but I also use it on my feet to get smooth heels. I slather the hand softener on my feet at night and leave the cream on with socks over night. In the morning my feet are significantly smoother.
6. Mary Kay CC Cream
This is another Mary Kay product I absolutely love. Mind you, I have tried other CC creams and they are either cheap and I hate how they feel, or are really expensive and doesn't feel any different from this one that is half the price. I do not use foundation because I hate the thick feeling of it on my face, but this CC cream is super lightweight and feels like I am putting lotion on while still giving me coverage. I typically use the very light and when I am tan I switch over to the light to medium.
I have to confess, had my cousins not gifted me a gift card to a makeup store for my birthday, I would have never spent the money on this because I simply didn't realize what I was missing out on. I went in and told the seller that I had a gift card and needed help spending it and this was the very first product she had me try. OMG ladies! This concealer has been a game changer in my makeup routine and I cannot believe how much of a difference it makes. Shout out to the manager at Ulta for the best customer service and showing me how to properly brighten my face and hide dark circles!
8. Benefit High Beam Highlighter
I am not an expert on putting on highlighter, but this one comes in a little brush, almost like a nail polish, and so it makes it easy to apply. I'm not into the dramatic look and really prefer the natural look, so this is perfect for just adding a hint of glow.
I don't always contour but when I do, this is the stick I use. It is creamy, super easy to put on, and the 2 in 1 packaging is great for traveling.
This is my every day mascara and as advertised, it truly does lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates the lashes. I especially really like the unique brush because the tip is designed to help get the corner lashes, which is where I typically would get smudges.
I use this mascara on top of the one mentioned above for nights out or when I want a little extra drama.
I am not an expert on penciling brows so this is a quick and easy way to add a little volume and color while still maintaining a natural look.
This is part of my everyday quick makeup routine and helps add a little color to my pale skin.
These lipsticks are my favorite and I have them in quite a few different colors. Not only are they super cheap (less than $6) but they really are so, so good! The matte formula doesn't make your lips look dry like some other ones I have tried. It also is not sticky, because I hate sticky lipstick, and it really is long lasting. At this price it's easy to stock up on a few different shades. My favorite are Nude Embrace for day, Toasted Truffle for nights and Almond Rose for a more rosey nude lip.
15. Mary Kay Satin Lips
Another Mary Kay must have is the satin lips set. The set comes with a lip mask and a moisturizer and I use it on dry lips, or to avoid dry lips. This one is a fav in my house as both my oldest and my husband also use it when their lips are dried out, especially in the winter.
